As a Sesshin provider, you'll connect with people in real moments of need — grief, spiritual searching, loneliness, crisis — and offer something simple but profound: a calm, trained, non-judgmental presence. You set your own schedule and work through our secure platform. We handle the admin, so you can focus on the care.
Sesshin welcomes certified chaplains, licensed counselors, trained spiritual directors, and others with relevant credentials and lived experience in spiritual care.

Requirements
Education & Certification
- Board-certified chaplain (BCC)
- Licensed counselor or therapist
- Certified spiritual director
- Or equivalent professional training
Experience
- Minimum 2 years professional experience
- Clinical pastoral education (CPE) units
- Experience with diverse populations
- Crisis intervention training preferred
Technical Requirements
- Reliable internet connection
- Computer with webcam
- Quiet, private space for sessions
- Basic tech comfort

Scope of Care: What Providers Do — and Don't Do
Sesshin providers offer a specific, bounded form of care. Understanding this scope protects both you and the people you serve.
Providers Do
- Listen actively and without judgement
- Offer presence, companionship, and spiritual care
- Work within the client's own worldview and framework
- Help clients explore meaning, grief, and existential questions
- Recognise when to refer to clinical or spiritual support
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Providers Do Not
- Diagnose, treat, or prescribe for mental health conditions
- Impose religious beliefs or push a spiritual framework
- Act as emergency responders or medical counsellors
- Offer medical, legal, or financial advice
- Maintain contact outside of the Sesshin platform
- Continue sessions beyond their scope of training
Ethics & Training
All Sesshin providers agree to our Code of Conduct and are expected to hold their practice with ongoing humility and care.
We offer regular supervision, peer consultation, and continuing education — because we believe good care requires practitioners who are themselves supported. Joining Sesshin means joining a community, not just a platform.
